Small shop.Steady hands.
Dog and cat grooming on Waukegan Road, for pets who would rather be anywhere else.
Two grooms, start to finish
Drag the handle across each photo to see the coat before and after. Same dog, same afternoon.
If another shop has taken a coat too short, bring your dog in anyway. Growing a breed coat back is slow, and we will tell you honestly how long it takes.
What we do
Prices depend on size, coat and condition. Call and describe your pet, and you will get a straight answer.
-
Dog grooming
Bath, dry, nails, ears, and either a bath-and-tidy or a full breed trim. Doodles, terriers, spaniels, double coats, thick mats — all of it.
-
Cat grooming
Very few shops take cats. We do. Long-haired cats and Persians usually come in a few times a year for a lion cut to clear mats and start the coat over.
-
Nails and quick tidies
Nail trims, sanitary trims, face and feet. Small jobs are welcome, and you are welcome to stand right there and watch.
-
Senior and anxious pets
Low table, no rushing, breaks when a pet needs one. If your dog cannot hop up or cannot stand for long, tell us when you book and we will plan around it.
Grooming is by appointment. Closed Wednesdays and Sundays. Payment is cash only — there is an ATM in the plaza.
The kitten room, up front
Every kitten we foster needs a home, and needs to get used to people first. The front room is open for both.
Stop in during shop hours, sit down on the floor, and spend a little time with whoever is here. There is no charge and no obligation to adopt. Kids are welcome with a grown-up. If you fall for one, we will walk you through the adoption paperwork before you leave.

What people bring up
Four things customers mention over and over in reviews and at the counter.
Patience
Nervous and squirmy pets get talked down rather than held down.
Cats, really
Cat owners drive past several towns to get here, because almost nobody else will do it.
You can watch
Nail trims and quick work happen in the open, with you standing there.
Fixing a bad cut
People come to grow a breed coat back out after it was clipped off somewhere else.
